Dr. Furlong visits CFPS in November

The CFPS is pleased to welcome Fall Faculty Retreat and Visiting Teacher, Allannah Furlong, PhD on November 14th and 15th. Dr. Furlong is a Psychologist in a full time private practice, member of the Société psychanalytique de Montréal; former president of the Société psychanalytique de Montréal; and former member of the North American Editorial Board of the International Journal of Psychoanalysis. Dr. Furlong has written about different aspects of the frame (missed sessions, symbolic payments in state covered health care, informed consent, confidentiality, the issue of patient consent for the use of clinical material in publications and clinical presentations). Co-editor in 2003 of two inter-disciplinary collections on confidentiality. Most recent work on trauma and temporality in lovesickness and dehumanization as a shield against our helpless openness to the other. The latter essay was awarded the 2013 JAPA prize for an original or significant contribution to the psychoanalytic literature.
